Commercial Sector Matters to Forum One

Printer-friendly version

While Forum One's work in the nonprofit and foundation sector is well known, I find both our clients and partners are surprised to learn that we are also active in the commercial sector. I therefore wanted to take a brief moment to discuss our work for commercial companies. As one might expect, we are fairly selective in what projects we take on in the commercial sector. We want to make sure that our work, commercial or otherwise, stays focused on public policy issues. Fortunately, an increasing number of commercially-funded projects meet this criterion, especially those related to corporate citizenship and collaborative research. For these reasons, Forum One has seen an explosion of interesting projects in the sector, which has increased the share of commercial work undertaken by our staff.

In the months ahead, Forum One will be releasing three new case studies on our commercial sector work. The first will highlight our work for a Fortune 1000 consumer products company, based in nearby Maryland. The project, which entailed the design of a new intranet site for the company's global research community, will serve as a great example of how firms can increase innovation and collaboration through user-centric design and the selective use of Enterprise 2.0 technologies. It also will demonstrate how our user experience and design team can provide organizations with powerful and intuitive design to meet the needs of any CMS, including proprietary software such as SAP Netweaver and Microsoft SharePoint.

At Forum One, we are proud of our work and our clients in the commercial sector. If you or someone you know are interested in learning more about of commercial sector practice, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
