ALEXANDRIA, Virginia, February 22, 2012 — Forum One Communications, a leading provider of digital strategy and website development, has been awarded a $1.8 million, three-year contract by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to develop the next generation of EPA's website – "One EPA Web."

One EPA Web, which will be launched at www.epa.gov, will incorporate the main EPA site and micro-sites that may be created as needed for specific programs or issues. The new platform will be developed using responsive design to work equally well on desktop, tablet, and smart-phone devices. Built using Drupal 7, the site will be flexible, compliant with all federal standards, and easy for EPA to update and maintain.

In developing One EPA Web, Forum One will team up with Treehouse Agency and Acquia. The three companies, all small businesses, are known for their creative, cutting-edge Drupal solutions and ability to ensure a smooth, successful transition of EPA’s existing web infrastructure to a stronger platform.

"Our solution will establish EPA as a leader in the federal web environment by creating a Drupal platform that can be branded with the EPA name and pushed out for wider adoption," said Michael Shoag, Forum One’s Director of Government Services.

Forum One has completed several projects for EPA, including the interaction design for the new Greenhouse Gas Data Tool, which enables the public to explore sources of greenhouse gas emissions on an interactive map.
