Former Microsoft Senior Communications Manager Michael Walsh Joins Forum One

Forum One Communications, a leader in online strategy and web technology consulting, today announced that Michael Walsh, former Senior Communications Manager at Microsoft, has joined the organization as a Project Director. In his new role, Mr. Walsh will help drive Forum One's strategy and development efforts for a variety of nonprofit and government clients.

Walsh brings years of experience in both the private and public sectors to his work at Forum One. Most recently, he served as Senior Communications Manager at Microsoft where he crafted the company's integrated web communications strategy for Environmental Sustainability. His campaigns attracted the attention of both international media and authoritative industry bloggers.

Walsh has served as a regular contributor to TechNet Magazine on Green IT and Digital Health Care and participated on panels on social media technologies at major internet conferences, including Web 2.0 Expo.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Walsh worked as both a management consultant and civil servant within the United States federal government. He has received a number of awards for his work, including a Certificate of Appreciation from the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Throughout his career, Walsh is attributed with forging and furthering relationships with influential public and private partners, including the Environmental Protection Agency (US), the Department of Sustainability and Environment (Australia), the Department of Defense (US), and high profile system integrators.

Walsh blends technical expertise with functional understanding. He holds bachelor’s and master's degrees in international relations from Johns Hopkins University/SAIS, has completed executive education programs in business management at Harvard, Wharton, and Columbia, and holds professional certificates in social network analysis, geospatial mapping, and network security.
