Forum One is pleased to join AED — a leading DC-based nonprofit organization that works globally to improve education, health, civil society, and economic development — for a very exiting event. On Monday, September 20, 2010, we will host an interactive viewing of the live TEDxChange event webcast, featuring Melinda Gates and other development leaders discussing the Millennium Development Goals.

After the webcast, we'll have an interactive audience-based discussion moderated by Lawrence MacDonald of the Center for Global Development. AED President Steve Moseley, Dean of Georgetown University of Foreign Service Carol Lancaster, and Geeta Rao Gupta, former president of the International Center for Research on Women, will all particiate in the discussion. They will share their thoughts on how the Millennium Development Goals, discussed in the webcast, are relevant to the development community in D.C.

TEDxChange
The Future We Make
On September 20, 2010, more than 150 of the world’s leading thinkers and doers will come together in New York for TEDxChange. Convened by Melinda French Gates on the 10th anniversary of the Millennium Development Goals, this event will explore what the future holds for health and development around the world. What changes have taken place in the last decade? And what more needs be done to ensure the health and well-being of future generations?

Hosted by TED curator Chris Anderson, a global audience will be participating in the event on September 20, as TEDx communities around the world, including TEDxDupont Circle, will be hosting events around the live webcast. To learn more, visit TEDxChange.org.

TEDx Mission
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where "x" equals an independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
