2010 has already brought us many award shows, red carpets, and those four familiar words, “and the winner is…”
This week, we were pleased to hear our name follow those four exciting words. The Web Marketing Association honored us with five WebAwards (think Grammys, but for the internet industry), putting us on par with major players like Arc Worldwide-A Leo Burnett, SapientNitro, and Walt Disney, a company known for its widely popular designs.
The judges based their decisions on seven criteria: design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting, and ease of use. Our sites scored above average in almost all categories, with one of our sites winning the unique distinction of “Best in Industry,” a recognition reserved for sites with the highest score in a given category.
Our winners were:
County Health Rankings: Winner, Outstanding Website
This site, which received overwhelming press attention when launched earlier this year, helps you understand the health of populations in nearly every county in the country providing a call to action for broad-based solutions to improving public health. This site was developed in partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Burness Communications, and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.
County Sin Rankings: Winner, Best of Industry Award, Advocacy
This site borrows data from County Health Rankings in a fun and accessible way. This site previously won first place in the Sunlight Foundation’s “Design for America” competition. Judge's comment: "Very clever and funny site, simple and to-the-point...Very cute, sassy and fun."
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Scholars, Fellows and Leadership Programs: Winner, Standard of Excellence (in both the Health Care and Nonprofit categories)
This site, rwjfleaders.org, developed in partnership with IQ Solutions, serves as a starting point for people who are looking for support or recognition for their efforts to improve health and health care. Judge's comment: "The site design was smooth, sleek, and modern."
For Love of Liberty: Winner, Outstanding Website
This site was developed in collaboration with Summit Marketing for the U.S. Army to tell the story of America’s black patriots. Judge's comment: "This is a VERY well designed website. The mix of Flash, video and text content really comes together in a flawless way and gives the user exactly what he came for. Very powerful website."
We are proud of these sites, and believe they showcase our commitment to building to-tier solutions, with engaging user experiences and clean and compelling designs, for all of our nonprofit, foundation, and government clients.
Thanks again to our clients for giving us the opportunity to work on these exciting projects, as well as to the project teams that made them possible and the judges for recognizing our achievements.
Oh, and thanks, Mom and Dad! Er, wait, this isn’t actually the Grammys...
