ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 6 — Forum One Communication’s staff’s open government suggestions were top vote getters on both the U.S. Agency for International Development and the Department of State’s idea sites.
As part of the Open Government Initiative, U.S. agencies and departments opened up the idea sites to allow citizens to contribute original approaches and to vote for those they considered most effective.
The sites, Openusaid.ideascale.com and Openstate.ideascale.com, were launched in response to the White House’s Transparency and Open Government Memorandum, which mandated that agencies collect citizen feedback during the development of each department or agency's Open Government Plan.
Many of the ideas submitted by Forum One staff ranked in the top ten, including:
- Comprehensive USAID Foreign Assistance Data Set for Data.Gov
- Young Adult International Development Community
- Standing User Experience & Design Resources for Web-based Pilots
- USAID Should Do More to Require their Contractors to Share Data
- Social Media Platform for International Disaster Response
- Enable Single User Accounts Across All Agencies
