As humans, we are visual creatures. We understand information best when presented visually (versus verbally). Below we discuss and share examples of how trends have shifted over time in the quest to communicate data effectively.
First there was Edward Tufte who revolutionized how information (particularly data) was presented on paper and screens. To learn more about Tufte's perspective on visual literacy and information design, visit edwardtufte.com.
Then there was Hans Rosling's Gapminder, whose gapcasts helped drive the popularity of data visualization tools. I particularly like the New York Times representation of olympic medals won over the years.
In the last couple of years, we've seen another trend gain momentum. Motion graphics are graphics that use video and/or animation technology to create the illusion of motion or a transforming appearance. These motion graphics are usually combined with audio for use in multimedia projects (source: Wikipedia)

Great Examples
Thanks for the great videos. I think some people are more visual than others. I myself lean more toward the visual leaner on the continuum. With the internet now days, videos are getting so accessible.

This is very interesting
Striking a nerve with your audience is very important when working online. I think this is really something that is truly amazing that is very hard to learn. Give them exactly what they want at a great price or for free depending what you are shooting at.

Motion graphics
I have never given it a thought but it is very interesting. Really the way the information is represented is changing with time. As for me, I like motion graphics a lot. It helps to keep attention of the audience for a longer period. There are lot's of programs which cotain this function. I've found the article at pdf SE http://www.pdfok.com where I've found even the tutorial.
I really agree with you here,
I really agree with you here, Sophie! The two videos you have posted here are simply stunning and have a great deal of information regarding motion graphics. Motion Graphics has taken us all into a world which we never even thought of during dreaming and it is very certain that this technology is going to be influencing many sectors including films(like the one we have seen in the awesome movie Avatar), songs as well as in architecture!Stereolithography
