Late last month, our site, CountySinRankings.org, was awarded first place in Sunlight Labs' "Design for America" contest in the "Visualizing Health Data Category." We came in first out of 13 entries.
But there were many other noteworthy winners. This video shows Clay Johnson of Sunlight Labs announcing the winners at the Gov 2.0 Expo in Washington on May 26, 2010. (He presents County Sin Rankings at the 6:15 mark.)
Here is a complete list of winners from each of the respective contest categories:
- Redesign of a .Gov Website: Redesigning IRS.gov
- Visualization of Congressional Rules/Floor Procedures: Your Guide to the U.S. Senate Floor Procedures
- Visualization of How a Bill Becomes a Law: How Our Laws Are Made
- Redesign of a Government Form: Redesigned Passport Form
- Visualizing Community Health Data: County Sin Rankings
- Visualization of Recovery.gov Data: Making a Full Recovery
- Data Visualization of Sunlight Community Data (TIE)
- Visualization of Data from the Federal Budget and/or USASpending.gov (TIE)
Lots of neat winners here. Enjoy!
