Printer-friendly version

Voting has begun to bring the Texas Content Massacre Panel to the 2012 SXSW Interactive Festival.

Are you as excited about the 2012 SXSW Interactive Festival as we are? We’ve already started counting down the days!

Because we love it so, we’re hoping to bring a little bit of horror, and a whole lot of content strategy, to the 2012 panel line-up! We’ve proposed the panel “Texas Content Massacre: Real-Life Horrors and Heroes” and need your help to get it on the roster. During the session, we plan to explore heroic content strategists and the horrors they encounter throughout the content strategy process. Each presenter will talk about a personal experience when his/her “seemingly perfect content strategy project” took a foul turn down a dark, stormy path. Because we like happy endings, the presentations will end on a positive note, where key lessons-learned and best practices will be shared.

The best part? The audience gets to vote for its favorite content strategy heroine! Don’t miss out on this fun and creepy panel. Please vote for it now. The full description of our proposed panel, as well as our awesome panelists, are listed below.

Title: Texas Content Massacre: Real-Life Horrors and Heroes

Description:
We've all been there. It's a sunny day in Amityville, everything is going well. Your content audit is in place, you’ve completed a solid gap analysis, and your messaging architecture is gleaming. And then! Darkness falls and your seemingly perfect content strategy project starts to look like something out of a horror movie. Despite the hours of planning and the successful projects under your belt, your organization decides to hack your work and slash your efforts to the bone. How can you survive?

During this session, each panelist will share his/her own horror story, and how he/she resolved a very bloody situation. In the end, you'll walk away with at least 15 solutions/fixes to ensure that when zombies strike, you’ll have a machete.

Five Questions You’ll Answer:

  • Prevent: What can you do to best prepare for content strategy massacres?
  • Predict: What do content strategy omens look like and what are some tell-tale signs you might be experiencing one?
  • Restart: How can you get your project back on track and re-establish your credibility?
  • Resolve: What are some real-life solutions that will help you overcome obstacles and address issues in a straightforward and persuasive way?
  • Sustain: How can you adapt to different client styles and customize or adapt content strategy elements for your project?
