We’re Ready for the 2012 Nonprofit Technology Conference

Although we're still recovering from one, maybe two, long nights at DrupalCon Denver, we are ready to do it all over again —  at sea level this time — at the 2012 Nonprofit Technology Conference in San Francisco.

What's New at Forum One: The DrupalCon 2012 Update

So what’s new at Forum One? I’m expecting and looking forward to getting that question a lot this week. I’ve just arrived in Denver for the big Drupal CMS conference "DrupalCon 2012." Thirteen of us from Forum One are among the 3,000 attending. I’m going to spend the week talking with clients and partners about what’s new in their worlds, and also the latest news at Forum One.

So what’s new at Forum One? What I'll be talking about at DrupalCon 2012 with clients and partners is the great things we're busy with on work for our clients, work which meets our intention of "Communicate. Collaborate. Change the world." And work which makes innovative use of Drupal, Acquia Commons, mobile data, and more. We've also made some nice additions recently to our team and big investments into Forum One's future!

Why We're Excited for DrupalCon and Drupal's Future

Hey, Nice Nodes! We've been DrupalCon participants for a while now, going back to our first participation at DrupalCon Washington DC in 2009. Since then, Drupal's growth and the growth of this event have been exciting to watch, and we're thrilled to have our biggest participation ever in the event this year.

We'll have 13 of our web developers and senior strategists attending. We're a Platinum Sponsor – and perhaps most importantly – we'll be debuting new, freshly minted "Nice Nodes" T-shirts along with "Nice Nodes" stickers.

Revving Up for DrupalCon Denver 2012

Are you prepared for five days of Drupal awesomeness? Ready to show off your Nice Nodes? Excited to try the new craft Drupal brew? Well, we are! Just like last year in Chicago, Forum One will be sponsoring the upcoming DrupalCon in Denver.

Drupal Fever in the Bay Area

Drupal fever is clearly raging in the San Francisco Bay Area. Last weekend’s BAD (Bay Area Drupal) Camp attracted 1,500 registrants from across the country, making it the largest free Drupal event in the world. In addition to the many sessions addressing developer topics, there also was training, a job fair, code sprints, and tracks dedicated to higher education and non-profits. Forum One to Sponsor Pacific Northwest Drupal Summit

Forum One is excited to announce our sponsorship of the upcoming 2011 Drupal Summit Pacific Northwest. This annual event isn't for the faint of heart. The summit will be a 2-day "tour de France" for Drupal professionals to gather, exchange ideas, learn from one another, and advance the widely-used Drupal CMS.

Around 300 people are expected to gather for the event at the Washington Hilton in Portland, Oregon, from October 14-16.

Online Engagement, "Der Fisch" and the Nervous Foundation

CEO Chris Wolz and Managing Director Andrew Cohen attended the Fall 2011 Communications Network Conference this past week to connect and learn about communication tools and best practices. This post was originally published online at ComNetwork.org, and is cross posted below with permission.

Two observations from Communications Network yesterday: exciting opportunities to effect social change using online engagement make many foundations nervous, and the old German expression “Der Fisch stinkt vom Kopf her” has new applicability in this online age.

EPA and Forum One Host Webinar on Open Data and Apps for the Environment

In an EPA webinar entitled, "Developers and Federal Agencies: Can we talk?," two Forum One team members and other open data leaders discussed what the government can do to help developers use publicly-available data. The webinar included a discussion of the Apps for the Environment challenge and Forum One's Datamasher.org, which won the Apps for America challenge in 2009.
