Site Launch: County Health Rankings & Roadmaps

Adult obesity, unemployment, lack of insurance, and air pollution are among the many health factors that affect our quality of life. And because these factors vary place to place, the health of a community depends on understanding these measures so local leaders can work to improve the health of the people in their communities.

What's Behind Turning Data into Action

Educators today have a tremendous amount of data available to them about their students. The challenge: How that data can strengthen teaching and learning.

That’s where Closing the Gap: Turning Data into Action comes in. As the name suggests, this project, launched by Gartner Inc., the Consortium of School Networking (CoSN) and the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), helps educators use data to take effective action.

Site Redesign: The What Works Clearinghouse Evaluates Education Research

At Forum One, we are passionate about driving progress in U.S. education. And while there are plenty of ideas on how to improve programs and policies, they can be difficult to interpret. Luckily, the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences (IES) has an initiative called the What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) that reviews education research to help answer the question, “What works in education?”

Drupal 7 Powers Ideas: A Showcase of the New Aspen Ideas Festival Website

Background

For over 60 years, the Aspen Institute has helped connect leaders from around the globe to discuss and engage in important challenges and issues facing our world today.

2011 marked the festival’s 8th year of existence. To reflect its vibrant and interactive spirit, there was a need to revamp its online presence. With a new, compelling design (provided by Katie Viola, of Kissane Viola Design) and a powerful back-end developed by Forum One’s Drupal development team, Aifestival.org was born. The site was built to serve both as an informational tool prior to, and during, the event, but also as a year-round multimedia archive for hundreds of files capturing the festival sessions.
