the art of community

hi michaela

i often wonder about what came first: the kids in the room or the can with the string?
offline community or online community?

scale, of course, impacts your experience and shapes your preferences.

in my recent thinking, i am more in favor of petri dishing smaller, vigorous groups of people around a common passion: what emerging dancers need to build a sustainable and supportive place at the community table among immigrant neighborhoods in queens, ny, or how performing arts groups can work with developers in creating cultural space to create work that is for and of the resident communities.

each person brings someone. we change the world, one friend at a time.

that's when we look for the can with the string.

i look forward to enhancing the matchless enthusiasm of people connected to good work with all that technology can do to keep us connected.

i am happy that you are able to recharge your passions and renew your energy in doing the wonderful work that you are involved in at the conference.

best,
hoong yee
