One other drawback to @font-face

Is that your dependent on the browser + OS to render the fonts, which can lead to inconsistent rendering across platforms AND browsers. Take a look at dcunited.com on a Mac and on Windows, both Firefox and Safari and you'll likely notice differences in the main navigation bar. When you're picking a font, you have to make sure that its web-safe, as far as I can tell, meaning that it is meant to render on a screen made up of pixels.

But my experience has been that while @font-face works great, you should test in a lot of browser/OS combos before choosing a font to go with.
