Information Architect

Forum One is currently seeking a Information Architect for a full-time position to work in our Alexandria Office.

Description:

The Information Architect position at Forum One is a unique opportunity to work in a creative environment, evaluate the needs of our clients, and develop customized user experience solutions that increase their efficiency. As an Information Architect, you will be a member of the User Experience Team, and work collaboratively under the direction of our experienced Senior IA staff.

IAs evaluate the clients' web-sites for their usability and quality, and actively support a diverse range of consulting engagements. As an IA you will engage in comprehensive user research, concept testing, and usability testing to gain a thorough understanding of the client’s goals, mission and needs, along with the needs of its audience. With the support of your team, you will then use that information to complete user-centered design documents including site maps, wire frames, personas, and functional specifications.

The Information Architect at Forum One requires a variety of skills which are outlined below. In addition, we encourage candidates who are interested in working in the areas of international development, health policy, and environmental policy within the non profit sectors to apply.

Required Skills

• 2+ years experience in information architecture
• Strong understanding of dynamic, data-driven web sites
• Broad understanding of the web and associated technologies and proficiency with a range of appropriate software tools (Visio, OmniGraffle, Photoshop,HTML)
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a high level of service orientation
• Strong oral and written communication skills including documentation and collaboration abilities
• Detail oriented with excellent organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to work independently and as a member of a larger team
