Senior Programmer - Technical Lead

Take a leading role in an amazing team of web developers, overseeing the application of cutting edge communication technologies, and to support the important missions of our policy focused clients. We work collaboratively with each other and our clients to evaluate current technologies, develop a strategy to further clients' strategic goals, define a system architecture, and implement a solution that meets technical and functional requirements. A successful candidate will not only provide objective evaluation, oversight, and leadership, but also be willing and able to engage in hands on programming tasks with the team to ensure that the final deliverable helps our client meet their business objectives.

Other Key Factors

  • Experience in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript,and CSS/XHTML.
  • Experience with Open Source Content Management Systems, preferably Drupal
  • Experience with application development frameworks such as Code Igniter, Zend Framework, or Cake, and front-end presentation libraries such as JQuery, Prototype, or YUI.
  • Experience vetting and qualifying functional specifications as well as estimation of both high level and detailed tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively in a team and with all levels of staff, as well as communicating technical ideas to non-technical people.
  • Experience with full lifecycle software development methodologies and best practices in software development, including the use of version control software (Subversion or CVS).
  • Proficiency in other server-side programming tools (C#, Python, Java/JSP, XML, XSLT, ColdFusion, or Perl) and web services is a definite plus.
  • Experience in front-end technologies, such as Flash and web-based multimedia, is a definite plus.
