Visual Design

When USIP began constructing a building on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to help advance the study and practice of peacebuilding, they turned to Forum One to design a site that would educate, inspire, and fundraise for the campaign.

You’ll notice the rounded edges throughout the design, meant to recall the undulating roof in the building’s structure, designed by architect Moshe Safdie to resemble wings. White, the color of peace, was chosen for the building, and is also the primary color on the site. This allows other site elements to pop, including variations of blue, a color known for its calming properties, and meant to embody inspiration, sincerity, and spirituality.

Donation asks are discreetly positioned in prominent locations throughout the site, in support of the campaign’s goal of involving the public in building a national center for advancing the study and practice of conflict management and peacebuilding.
