Jenn Johnson

Jenn helps girls rock--for a reason. She donates her time as volunteer coordinator and web developer for Seattle’s Rain City Rock Camp for Girls, part of a worldwide alliance of organizations that build positive self-esteem and creative expression in girls through music.

You may also find her rocking out on her own bass guitar. Playing in and managing her bands over the years has strengthened her project management skills--especially when she organized, publicized, and performed in a 25-city nationwide tour.

As a project officer at Forum One, Jenn coordinates projects that meet our clients’ needs, helping to ensure that both the creative and logistic aspects are in harmony. She brings over 10 years of experience in non-profits and education, an appetite for emerging web communication tools and a passion for social justice.

Jenn spent many childhood hours exploring the forests near her home in Ohio. She earned a bachelor's degree in Communication Education from Miami University. Before coming to Forum One, she was a marketing associate at the University of Chicago Press and a program manager at Technology Access Foundation, where she trained and managed a team of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) teachers to deliver programs to K-8 students in underserved communities. As a writer and web designer, Jenn founded and regularly contributes to a family of humor blogs. (see below)

She also taught herself Joomla to build an online collaboration toolkit that connects hundreds of volunteers and staff in the Girls Rock Camp Alliance. When not rocking or working, Jenn seeks out local food wherever she is and roots for the Seattle Storm.
