Managing Director, Project Delivery

Joe is the MacGyver of online communications. Whether it's using bubble gum and duct tape to come up with creative, cost-effective approaches or using the latest, greatest tools, he loves solving problems.

Joe's specialty is knowledge management, online communities, and collaboration. He helps clients design and implement intranets, extranets, online communities, and other online tools and services that help groups of people share knowledge, communicate better, and work together more effectively. He also oversees ProjectSpaces, Forum One's project collaboration tool.

Joe's knowledge comes in handy in his role leading Forum One's international development and federal government work. He is active in the Open Data and Gov 2.0 communities. He is co-chair of the Development Information Workgroup of the Society for International Development and a member of the Technical Advisory Group for the International Aid Transparency Initiative.

Joe also led the Forum One team that developed DataMasher, which finished first in the Sunlight Foundation's "Apps for America 2" Contest.

Before coming to Forum One, Joe worked at CH2M HILL and PA Consulting. He consulted for a wide range of organizations, including public utilities, nonprofits, government agencies, industry associations, and the private sector. His work experience spans 10 countries in Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean, primarily on projects related to sustainable tourism and performance management.

A long-time Tar Heel (Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is his home town), Joe is a husband and parent to two daughters, enjoys fixing things, and plays guitar and windsurfs in his spare time.

What you may not know: He once flooded his parents' basement with a hose. Presumably, it was an accident.
