Michael is the quintessential lifelong learner. He holds a B.A./M.A. in international relations, with concentrations in international law and international economics, from The Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies. He completed executive education programs in business management at Harvard, Wharton, Chicago, and Columbia, and he holds professional certificates in social network analysis, geospatial mapping, and network security. He anticipates completing his M.S. in biotechnology at Johns Hopkins in 2012.

With this educational background as a foundation, Michael is an experienced senior manager with functional knowledge in strategy, marketing communications, brand management, partner management, and product development. At Forum One, he is adept at constructing digital strategies that take advantage of Web 2.0 technologies, especially as they relate to social media and Gov 2.0.

Michael served as a senior marketing communications manager for environmental sustainability at Microsoft Corporation. He joined Microsoft after a number of years in the federal government, where he worked as a management consultant and civil servant. These positions allowed him to work closely with government organizations in the United States and abroad, including the Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Defense, and Department of State.

Michael is the recipient of many awards, including a certificate of appreciation from the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff. He has published papers on software innovations, served as a regular contributor to TechNet Magazine on digital healthcare and green IT, and participated on panels on social media technologies at major conferences, including Web 2.0 Expo San Francisco. He is a member of the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy, Public Diplomacy Alumni Association, and American Red Cross.

He is the proud parent of two children. When not spending time with them, he is out playing rugby and rooting for the Galatasaray Sports Club, a legendary football club in Istanbul, Turkey.
