Sandy studied music, then international relations in college -- but ultimately morphed into a computer programmer.
Sandy joined Forum One in 2000 and now manages our software team. As a developer, he builds interactive web sites with PHP, XML, and JavaScript. He also has skills in XHTML/HTML, CSS, and Adobe Photoshop. For his work on Forum One projects, Sandy is responsible for architecture, design, and technical oversight, as well as developing technical recommendations specific to hosting environments, application server requirements, third-party software utilization, and other factors.
Previously, at DevTech Systems, Sandy served as webmaster for several government sites, first helping to define needs and organize information, and then developing the solutions. He was responsible for implementing the U.S. Agency for International Development's first online conference, now a standard way the agency brings together its dispersed audiences.
Sandy's B.A. in music and M.A. in international studies are both from the University of South Carolina. He also studied at the Jagiellonian University in Poland. He is an early blogger, launching his own blog back in 2003. He's also got a mental database of lines from The Simpsons and South Park -- an inappropriate quote for any occasion. But put him in a strategy session and his inner policy wonk comes out. Don't be surprised if he not only understands your organization's work, but also will suggest better features to match the application to your budget and mission.
You may not know: Sandy speaks Polish and has traveled extensively through Central Europe and the former Soviet Union.
