Digital Content Manager

Forum One is looking for a full-time Digital Content Manager to work out of our Alexandria, VA or Washington, D.C. office.  We’re looking for someone who loves solving communications and marketing challenges through digital interactive solutions. This position will primarily support one of our federal government clients focused on improving access to health care for all Americans.


What you’ll do:

  • Manage a team of writers, analytics analysts, and designers to develop digital assets for web and social media outreach, including infographics, fact sheets, and branded images, and maintain the client’s overall web presence.
  • Manage the client’s JIRA ticketing system, triage and route requests, and track and guide content requests through completion.
  • Analyze, develop, and revise web content using our client’s Drupal content management system (CMS) adhering to plain language guidelines, Section 508 compliance, and information architecture development/maintenance principles.
  • Participate with the website project team in the management and development of site-wide content strategy guidelines to support design templates.
  • Support website stakeholders by communicating content needs based on templates, technical requirements, and web best practices; creating frameworks for content drafting; ensuring creation of platform-specific content (i.e. metadata, summaries, interface messages); auditing existing content, and helping content owners understand the impact of new information architecture and visual hierarchies on effective communications.
  • Consult on non-website related content such as flyers not intended for posting online.
  • Document the process of engaging content owners on producing, editing, clearing, and publishing content.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders across the organization to coordinate postings, and then stage and publish content according to established timelines.

What you bring to the table:

  • Experience managing creative team members, vendors, and partners.
  • Experience supporting Federal clients and 508 compliance
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years professional experience, with a passion for and a primary focus on content management and creation in the digital space.
  • Experience with CMS (preferably Drupal) and other systems for staging, editing, and publishing content.
  • Experience establishing, documenting, and training employees on efficient and effective processes for managing content.
  • Experience communicating with an array of stakeholders to articulate business objectives into technical/content requirements or strategies.
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Extreme attention to detail and copy editing and Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience.
  • Familiarity with AP style

Preferred additional experience:

  • Social media management (paid and organic) and best practices.
  • Familiarly with Facebook Business, Hootsuite and Google Ads.
  • Experience with graphic design tools and software.
