Managing Director of Strategy


Forum One is seeking a Managing Director of Strategy to lead and grow our digital consulting practice. The Managing Director of Strategy is responsible for bringing strong, insight-driven strategic thinking across a diverse array of projects at Forum One. You will work collaboratively with nonprofit and public sector clients to understand their challenges, develop strategies, and be an ongoing trusted advisor through implementation and beyond.


What you’re responsible for:

  • Building and growing a digital consulting practice
  • Leading strategic vision and project team collaboration on strategic and technical client engagements
  • Supporting new business development and account growth efforts by providing expert information in pitch efforts and client meetings.
  • Managing, mentoring, coaching, and providing feedback to team members
  • Driving improvement and standardization of strategy work on all client engagements 



  • Minimum of 15+ years experience in Digital Strategy, Transformation, and Solution Design projects or programs
  • Experience building and growing a digital consulting practice
  • Experience applying Human Centered Design based approaches, including Design Thinking, Service Design, Systems Thinking (ability to develop common artifacts including archetypes, profiles, use cases, personas, journey maps, and blueprints)
  • Experience in creating digital strategies along with a high-level understanding of user centered design, the technologies and tactics needed for execution
  • Experience implementing agile business and development processes in a variety of contexts and disciplines
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing, mentoring, coaching, and providing feedback to team members
  • Demonstrated experience managing client or partner relationships
  • Outstanding facilitation, brainstorming, and collaboration skills to lead conversations and workshops with senior executives from both the business and technology
  • Comfortable working closely with cross-functional teams
