Do you want to define the structure of sites and apps for organizations doing important work around the world? We are looking for a talented User Experience Associate to join us at our headquarters in Alexandria, VA. As a user experience associate at Forum One, you’ll work to uncover insights and develop strategies to drive the creation of transformative digital experiences for our clients. You’ll work on multiple projects for a variety of amazing clients. What kind of clients could you support? We currently support Peace Corps, The Center for Health and Gender Equity (CHANGE), USAID, Center for Strategic and International Studies, NMAAHC, Fairfax County Public Schools,  EPA and more!

As the ideal candidate, you’ll be capable of performing research activities, extracting insights, and brainstorming and communicating new concepts. In this role, you’ll collaborate across disciplines including creative, tech, design, strategy, and within your UX department to build powerful and strategically-grounded best-in-class user experiences. What you’ll do:

  • Execute UX tasks and approaches including audience research, usability reviews and testing, analytics analysis, layout sketching for desktop, mobile, and other breakpoints, prototype creation, content strategy development, and data visualization design.
  • Assist Senior User Experience Designer in leading clients and teams in the crafting and execution of project strategic visions, using a variety of UX techniques and tools.
  • Listen to clients’ concerns and help the project team set the direction with transparency and clarity on project vision, audience focus, and UX aspects using simple language, concise messages, and clear next steps.
  • Balance UX needs with technical considerations, budget, and other constraints. 

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • One to two years of experience in user experience design, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Excellent online portfolio.
  • Experience with doing interviews, surveys, usability testing, and meeting facilitation.
  • Experience in delivering wireframes, personas, content models, vision briefs, content inventories and audits, journey maps, heuristic review, competitive review, and analytics reviews.
  • Experience with Sketch, UXPin, Axure, Omnigraffle, Visio, Illustrator, Balsamiq, Webflow, or similar. Google Suite, InDesign, Keynote, MSPowerPoint, MSWord, and OptimalWorkshop Suite are strongly preferred.
