Forum One is thrilled to be hosting this special Webby Talk with Webby Media Group Executive Producer, Steve Marchese. Steve will reflect on what the Internet has made possible during the global slowdown and how it has powered a launchpad for what the future might hold. He will share global trends that are impacting the Internet and our personal habits, including the findings of a survey in partnership with YouGov of 3,000 people who have experienced the shutdown and are primed for change in how they live and what that means for the future.

Steve Marchese, Executive Producer, Webby Media Group

Steve Marchese has spent the last 15 years of his professional life living the mission he and his teammates have helped establish at the Webby Awards: “To identify and curate the best of the web and honor those who create it.” In the late ’90s as a journalist (Flavorpill, XLR8R, and Stash) and as a first-wave music blogger with his long-running blog scissorkick.com, Steve’s columns and features identified the burgeoning nexus between motion graphics, web design, and electronic music. As the Executive Producer at the Webby Media Group, Steve has led production duties on eight Webby Awards cycles, and has also led a number of initiatives and launches like Internet Week New York, Internet Week Europe, The Lovie Awards, Architizer A+ Awards, Netted and a recent collaboration with NYC Digital, the Made in New York Digital Jobs Map.
