Help Us with Our 5-Word Webby Speech!

Next Monday, we’re headed to New York for the 21st Annual Webby Awards Ceremony — and we need your ideas to help us get our #5wordspeech up on stage.

Once again, we are thrilled and honored that the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture website was awarded both the Webby Award and People’s Voice Award for best website in the Cultural Institutions category. Our team is headed to New York on Monday for the Awards Ceremony and we are quite simply over the moon to get to be part of all the festivities.

As is the tradition, Webby award winners have a maximum of 5 words to use in their acceptance speeches. While not all winners get to go up on stage to accept their award, a select few that come up with unique, creative, funny and/or powerful 5-word combinations are invited up.

This is where you come in!

Help us get on stage by sharing your ideas for our 5-word speech. This Thursday at 1pm ET on Twitter using the hashtag #5wordspeech and @ForumOne, we invite you to share your ideas of what you think our 5-word speech should be. For inspiration, take a look at the Webby’s YouTube channel to see some of the best ones from years past.

Thanks for your help — and we’ll keep you posted on what we choose as the winner!
