See You at Drupal GovCon 2018!

Drupal GovCon is taking place from August 22nd – 24th at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Forum One is excited to yet again be a sponsor as well as leading a number of sessions and trainings.

If you haven’t yet registered for this year’s Drupal GovCon this August, there’s still time!

Drupal GovCon brings together people from all over the country who use, develop, design, and support the Drupal platform with a focus in government. And while ‘government’ is the big keyword for this event, there is also a heavy representation of attendees from the private and nonprofit sector.

Where Can You Find Forum One at GovCon?

Forum One will be here, there and everywhere for this year’s event. Find us at any of the following spaces or times.

[Exhibition Area] Forum One booth

Wednesday, August 22nd – Friday, August 24th

Stop by and meet the Forum One government contracting team. We’ll be able to share insight about our current Drupal government and nonprofit projects — including our work with the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and others. And we’ve got some fun SWAG to give you that we’re sure you’ll love.

[Session] Similar Data, Similar Audiences, Different Pathways

Thursday, August 23rd, 3.00pm

In this session, we’ll walk you through a demonstration of public data visualizations, and discuss what it took behind-the-scenes to build them. We’ll provide insight on the choices we made around UX and design and then look at how those choices resulted in differences in the narrative approach to discussing the data. We’ll also share the challenges we faced using different technologies, including headless Drupal and progressive decoupling, and our lessons learned from these two different approaches. Full session description.

[Training] Component-Based Theming with Twig in Drupal 8

Friday, August 24th, 9.00am-4.00pm

Each iteration of Drupal introduces new and exciting ways to manage content. However, the display of content is even more important along with the knowledge of how to convert a design to a theme. Join us as we walk through the theming variations that started with the traditional theme-centric design and has quickly moved into component-based design. Together we will master Component-based theming with Twig as we work to identify patterns, define components, utilize command line tools such as Composer, NPM and Grunt to quickly create a PatternLab managed theme. Sign up for the full-day training.

We look forward to seeing you there!
