As people across the globe continue to face the challenges brought by frequent uncertainty, we look to data to make informed decisions through measurement and analytics. Mission-driven organizations can make decisions using a human-centric approach that incorporates a comprehensive data platform to advance their initiatives and prioritize how they use their resources. Forum One has been working with organizations all over the world to make an impact with data. Here are a few stories of how we’ve done it.
Enhancing access to healthy foods for Colorado parents and children
The Colorado Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides supplemental foods, healthcare referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children who are found to be at nutritional risk.
With Gen Z creating an increase in client growth, Forum One worked with the Colorado WIC program to create a roadmap for a digital ecosystem that shifts toward a more flexible and client-centered approach. We reviewed existing audience research and feasibility studies to provide background on the project and spoke with the Colorado WIC team about their experiences. Using this information, we completed a cohesive roadmap on how to modernize Colorado WIC’s digital ecosystem.
The recommended priorities have a focus on client experience and optimize the program to have a more nimble and proactive approach. The result was a scalable platform that streamlines client journeys. This platform has increased data accessibility and allows Colorado WIC to make increasingly more data-informed decisions that improve client participation and experience.
Using a modern digital ecosystem to help safeguard the earth
As an international organization that works to safeguard the earth—its people, plants, and animals—and the natural systems on which all life depends, the National Resource Defense Council (NRDC) relies on consolidated data and clear visualizations to succeed in executing its mission.
Forum One has designed and developed several digital tools to drive engagement and action to help NRDC advance key environmental policy initiatives, including the Offshore Drilling Position Tracking Tool and the Power Plant Cost Calculator. The digital ecosystem now has a modern presence with real-time data displays to keep audiences up-to-date and provides a platform to inform timely, educated decisions. Utilizing this data platform creates a sustainable infrastructure for NRDC’s critical work and ultimately strengthens the ability to create change through informed decision making.
Advancing California’s healthcare workforce through access to learning
The pressures of working in the medical field often make it difficult for healthcare professionals to find needed resources to advance their careers. The Education Fund, a partnership between the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and United Healthcare Workers West (UHW), provides education, training, and career services to union members in California.
Forum One recommended a digital strategy that incorporates tools for data analyses to better capture and facilitate interactions with learners. With this digital strategy and roadmap as a guide, the Education Fund has been able to concretely show that employees who take training through its services receive significant wage increases, which has led to renewed bargaining agreements with unions.
Creating an impact through measurement and analytics
As seen through these stories, utilizing measurements and analytics to make informed decisions can be extremely effective in supporting the important missions of organizations and having an impact on the world around us.
